Welcome back to our travel game show, Passports or Pass, on Weekend Travel Inspiration, where we interview travel bloggers and travel experts from around the globe! This episode we delve into the intrepid minds of Kaylie and Taran, a family from New Zealand that has loved traveling all over Europe for the last four years while they have been living in Dresden, Germany. Kaylie runs the family travel blog, Happiness Travels Here, and highlights how to keep traveling with children of all ages
Will Kaylie and Taran Pass our Travel Companion Game Show Test?

Four years ago, Taran followed his job and the family moved to Europe. At the time, their oldest was only three years old and his sister an infant. They have really taken advantage of the centrality of Germany by traveling to over 25 countries in that four years. They slowed down long enough for us to meet up with them and run them through the Passports or Pass challenge. Will they get their passports, or should it have been a pass?
Passports or Pass with Kaylie and Taran from HappinessTravelsHere

When work gets in the way of Taran’s travel, Kaylie doesn’t stop. Often traveling alone with the children, their travels have taken them through Scandinavia, into Africa, around Iceland, and even to Cuba. If anyone knows the ins and outs of travel with kids, it’s Kaylie. Be sure and stop by their site to check it out.

Thanks for your comment Jithin, very kind of you.
What an amazing story! Just shows you what can be done, truly inspiring. What amazing adventures you guys have had, I believe travelling is the best education any kid can get.
What a great idea for a game show. Loved the interview and I’m going to have to check out which other bloggers you’ve interviewed on your YouTube channel. I’m genuinely curious who would get their passports.
Chris, If you happen to be in the vicinity…you could be next!
That’s the biggest advantage of staying in the heart of Europe. Kaylie and Taran managed to explore over 25 countries in four years! Great interview and using the video mode really pushed it up several notches too.
I still feel like there is still so much we haven’t seen, Europe has been such an amazing base for us to travel from.
ha ha…. Loved the interview format.
I would splurge on wine when I travel too, so I can relate. I admire that you travel with 2 kids and covered 70 countries between both of you. Kudos!!
I was a bit nervous about the video but it was really great fun. Glad to hear I’m not the only one splurging on wine!
Great couple. Its a really good thing that, even after having childeren, these people are still travelling. Very inspirational.
I thoroughly enjoyed your segment Passports or Pass. Nice idea.
Germany is, I think a best option for families to settle and to explore Europe.
Varsha, Germany certainly is central, and it’s so easy to get around to other countries.
Great game! I love the fact that they don’t always have to travel with each other. My wife and I are they same way. There are times when I have to work and she goes on a trip without me. I think that solo travel is actually really great for a relationship.
So inspiring to see families that travel with young kids. It can be done! And she’s amazing mom to travel even on her own.
I really enjoyed this interview. we travel with our 5 yrs old and i can say it has its pros and cons.. But Family travels are always fun :)
Thanks for sharing.
I’m finding that it is getting easier as they get older as well, enjoy your adventures with your 5 year old.
