Lhasa, Tibet

Lhasa.  Tibet.  What a place!  I wouldn’t say it was a vacation, traveling through Tibet is pretty hard-coare traveling.  The barren landscape, the altitude, the constant struggle between the Tibetans and the Chinese.  It’s all very interesting.

Painted with Buddhist symbols in bright colors, the spinning brass prayer wheels, painting, stone carvings, and offerings all along the path, it’s not only visually pleasing, but it really evokes a peacefulness and serenity. This pilgrimage site is not to be missed, I could have spent at least one more full day in the area around it photographing the people as they make their way to it, spinning their personal prayer wheels.  Fascinating!
