Springbok Herd

Going on safari was one of my favorite travel events of all time. How else would I have seen this herd of springbok relaxing on the savannah.

I went to Botswana during the dry season. It’s the only time I’ve been there, but it seemed a great time to visit. There wasn’t much color, but the vegetation was so dry and sparse that it was easy to spot the wildlife.

Antelope were everywhere. We lost count of all the different species that we saw. They always seemed curious and wary, but not too worried.

I love this shot, because they seem to be so relaxed.

Have you been on safari? Where?
