Reflection #515 – Portrait of an Indian Elephant

Indian Elephant

Elephant walking down a street in India.

This big guy just ambled up the street heading our way in Bikaner, but it could have happened in any of the villages or cities in the state of Rajasthan.  We had come to this city to visit the Karni Mata Rat Temple, so yes we expected to see rats.  We did not expect to see an Indian elephant.  It was a pleasant surprise and one that happened over and over during our trip.  Not so much seeing elephants but just being surprised.

I love this photograph because it shows life on any Indian street.  There invariably are people, lots of wires, and all kinds of activity on the street.  I love India.

Have you been there?  What did you think?
