Classroom in Rajhastan – Happy New Year!

Children Look Up from a Lesson

Classroom Rajhastan

There are a few places on Earth where as an American I feel so much more privileged than the people I’m visiting. India is one of those places, especially in the state of Rajhastan.

As teachers, Jim and I try to visit schools wherever we go. American teachers grumble about pay, supplies, time, lack of computers. But look at these students. They sit on the floor with a small blackboard to look at. They have to use the paper they have over and over, often writing in the margins. A writing utensil is a gift. It humbles us.

On this New Year’s Day, we wish you and your loved ones happiness, comfort, and health!

Happy New Year everyone. May 2014 be….great!
