Weekend Travel Inspiration – Possession

Weekend Travel Inspiration Possession

Alain de Botton’s quote really speaks to me as a traveler.  Not a trip goes by without me just taking a look at a scene, all kinds of scenes really, that make me want to gather that view into my arms, stuff it into my backpack and keep it forever.  I want to savor the feeling, the emotion, the awe that I’m experiencing.  Obviously I try to do this with my photography.  I am always trying to capture it so that I can possess it, keep it forever.  Here are a few examples of me trying to capture the essence of my travels.

Day Trippin’ to Bosnia

Animals of Iceland

The Beauty of Malta

Weddings from Around the World

I love Fishing!

Front Yards from Around the World

The Wildlife of Borneo

The Fantastic Flora of Iceland

  1. I love this quote too Corinne. Normally I’m not a big fan of Alain de Botton (I think his intellect scares me a bit as he’s years younger than me and yet he’s a philosopher!) I can totally relate to wanting to possess and hold on to the moment and I too take heaps of photos as my way of remembering. Thanks for providing weekend inspiration again 🙂

  2. Ooooohhh Corinne! I’m not a big ‘quote’ person but this one absolutely nails the feeling we all have sometimes. I don’t know where it comes from – sometimes it’s a view, a smell, or it could be music, what we would like is just to seize the moment and keep it alive. Thank you for this gem!
