A week of Oklahoma goodness had ended, and I was waving my hat and saying “Adios” to the Sooner state.  We headed down the road a mite, to Ft. Worth, Texas for me to catch my plane.  We had some time to kill, and still wanted to see some real stockyards, so silly us we went to Ft. Worth Stockyard City.  Yes, they had cows.  Yes, they had cowboys.  Yes, it was primarily for tourists.

Oklahoma! (Part deux)

Continuing with my exploration of the great state of Oklahoma, we headed north about 100 miles to Ponca City where there is the Pioneer Woman’s Museum.  One hundred miles is really far when you compare it to central Europe or even the east coast of the U.S., but in Oklahoma it’s just “up the road a bit.”  As you can see the scenery was a bit repetitive, but different than what I’m used to.  I was somewhat mesmerized by the rhythmic pumping of the oil wells.  Someday I’ll have to do a tour of one to find out [...]
