When you think of Mongolia, you think of horses, and even taking off from Ulaan Bator on the very first day we ran into plenty of horses and their keepers. In a country with such wide open landscapes, harsh winters, and very few cities, Mongolian horseman are still a common sight driving their herds over rocky hills and valleys.
…or somebody’s got to do it!
Here’s Devon and me getting ready to go experience a 2,000 year old bath in northern Tunisia.
I’m turning 50 years old today. Wow! 50! It seems old, but I don’t feel old. It has given me time to think about my life…a little reflection, I guess. I wouldn’t trade my life with anyone. I’m so grateful for the decisions I’ve made, the opportunities I’ve taken, the experiences I’ve had. There’s no way I could categorize my experiences into the “Top 10″ or “the Best Of”. From the wind and sun wrinkles, to the length and thickness of his wool garb, you can just tell you have to come from hardy stock to make it here. Another wonderful place to visit; take my advice and go into the backlands of Mongolia. That’s where the real people are.
I can’t see Santa making it to some of these out of the way stops, but believe me when I tell [...]
